Runway Inspiration :: Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear

The Dolce and Gabanna Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear runway presentation shown in Milan paid tribute to the “Mamma”.  For those who attended, it was apparently a touching and an emotional event; as some models walked the runway with their own children.  Tim Blanks from Style.com is quoted as stating “the positive message of the show — and the collection — was that everything we are is an extension of where we came from”.   The collection was full of ornate details such as fox stoles, cherubs and poodle brooches a-fixed to accessories.  The rose, a childhood memory of Stepano’s mother’s rose-scented red lipstick, was the star attraction of the collection.  Individual letters of the alphabet of intricate collage art made up of sequins, studs and felt were intricately sewn to the garments. Embroidery, which has been featured in other designers’ collections, was predominate in this collection as well, as was lace and silk.  Below are but a few of the over 160 detail shots of the collection featured on Style.com.  I suddenly feel like covering an old pair of mary-jane pumps in fuzzy fake fur. No doubt DIY-girls will be inspired to create their own interpretation of this collection…
