Once again, the time is just flying by and the weather is inevitably turning colder. I for one am not ready, but am making do by lighting candles and setting our My Home system to various mood lighting colours. So fun to have a subtle flush colour over our dining room table and lavender in the bathroom. Our clocks have also been adjusted, thus making daylight so much shorter, so I am doing as much work as possible early in the day, thus saving my eyes from straining at the computer screen in the evenings.
On the blog front, I am busy putting together some Christmas gift guides for you all. There will be three, one for the ladies, another focused on beauty and one for the men, so stay tune for these! I hope to finish them this or next week. I will be featuring only items that are either sustainably made, purposeful and can be treasured for a long time.
On the personal front, I am so happy with my yoga routine, but have decided to integrate another workout (mainly for variety), specifically that from Melissa Wood Health (MWH). Her method is all about slow controlled movements through yoga and pilates style principles to sculpt long, lean lines throughout your entire body! I have only started MWH, but I immediately knew it would suit me. I love that I can do my routines from home. Personally, I cannot be bothered leaving the condo in the cold weather months, getting stressed out to find a parking spot, worrying about arriving on time, lugging around a workout bag and yoga mat, and paying for all of this! I have also started a 21 day meditation program from Deepak Chopra, which I always enjoy. I find doing the yoga and meditation exercises immediately upon waking really works for me. It sets my mindset to a positive one and I love knowing that whatever happens during the day, at least I did this much. MWH is done mid-afternoon, or just before supper. I think this routine would also work for those who have a 9-5 job.
I have also started reading again and have requested a total of six books from my local library. Of the six, I am the first in the queue for the following two: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo : a Novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid & The Alice Network by Kate Quinn. I plan to read these simultaneously. But I am most anxious to read the third and sixth in the queue, A Little Life : A Novel by Hanya Yanagihara & Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. Have you read any of these?
I will leave you with a favourite photograph taken of me at the end of October by my youngest brother, who is building his photography portfolio. Give him some love by following him on instagram, link here.
